Small Event, Big Energy: How Las Vegas Locals Actually Use Our Space

Not every event at StarBase needs to be over the top to feel like something special. Sometimes it’s just about using the space in a way that fits your people.

We recently hosted a birthday celebration for three friends who all had birthdays within the same week. Instead of splitting it up, they brought everyone together for one night and made it their own.

They kept things centered in Valley View, our front space where we also host many of our community events, and welcomed around 200 guests. It’s a size we see often in that room, full enough to feel the energy while still comfortable to move, connect, and not feel overcrowded.

From the start, the tone was set. DJs, fog machines, and lighting all worked together without needing anything overdone. The space naturally carried the energy. The main bar, T$&i, stayed consistently busy, but with everything built in to handle the flow and our bartenders keeping things moving seamlessly, efficiently, and engaging with guests, there were no long lines or bottlenecks.

What made the night stand out was how easily the space adapted to what they wanted to do. They turned our moped into a merch activation, giving guests something to integrate into the experience and to take home. It became a built-in moment without needing extra structure or setup.

In Cosmic Cowboy, they set up a gamer’s lounge with a couple of gaming consoles. That room naturally lends itself to a different pace. Even with the main room going, the acoustics keep it more relaxed, giving guests a place to step away, reset, or just hang out in a quieter environment. It’s one of those subtle things about StarBase that makes a difference: the rooms are designed to feel connected without competing with each other, so guests can move between energy levels without ever feeling disconnected from the overall experience.

Even the smaller details came through. The bathrooms were stocked with toiletry essentials, similar to what you’d find in Las Vegas nightclubs. It’s one of those things that feels subtle but adds to the overall experience.

They also brought in a food truck, which worked seamlessly with the flow of the night. No need to pause the party or shift energy. People could grab food when they wanted and jump right back in.

And that’s really what the night showed. When the space is set up to be flexible, everything else becomes easier. You don’t have to force the experience. It just builds naturally. It had all the elements people usually associate with a rave: music, lighting, a packed room, and different areas to move through. But it felt more personal, more controlled, and more comfortable.

Part of that comes down to how the space is built. Between the in-house AV, customizable lighting, fully furnished spaces, and the ability to move between rooms, everything works together without overcomplicating it. You can shift the energy, create different moments, and let guests experience the night in their own way. Think of hosting events at StarBase as having your own version of a Las Vegas experience, without having to navigate the busiest part of the city for access.

And the best part is, you don’t have to be a party planner to make something like this happen. The Captain’s crew at StarBase is always here to help guide the direction and bring your vision to life. If you have the idea, we’ll help chart the course.
